Improbably Plausible: Delight in 3 Acts.
There is an indie-rock artist that's local to my state that I've become a fan of. Wanda opened for a band I was seeing, and she was fantastic. A great personality, funny, good musician and great songs. So, whenever she's playing and I can make it, I go see her, usually solo but sometimes the full band. She's worth her own delight post. I saw she was playing my town, and I was free that night and the price was very reasonable, so I snagged tickets for myself and a friend. I didn't think much about it until the day of the show. Turns out, it's a monthly storytelling show, think the moth, and it is in 3 acts. Act 1 is names from a hat and a 5-minute story from an audience member. Act 2 is a prepared story by a performer and Act 3 is an acoustic musician, in this case, Wanda.
What I didn't expect was how much fun I'd have with the whole thing! There was an older lady (70s?) telling her first ever public story. She was adorable in how nervous she was, and the story was great. When the next month came along, I pinged my friend and he too had really enjoyed it, so we went again. Margaret, the lady I mentioned earlier, told another story. Fast forward to this month's show, and there she was again. I adore her and I'd never have met her or attended this if it weren't for Wanda whom I discovered by coincidence as well. Delight!
