Anything Is Possible by Elizabeth StroutMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
Y'all, I feel like I'm betraying Strout! I adore her work. The way she writes dialogue, the way she moves from internal conversation to actual conversation. And, of course, Lucy Barton. When I read her work it's like a nice cardigan and hot tea on a cool rainy day. This one, felt rushed and discombobulated. She frequently swaps voices in her book, but in this one, the people were far apart in context, and it was disjointed. The writing was still great and when Lucy made an appearance, all was well for those couple chapters.
