2025 Reading Challenge

I'm not the biggest Van Halen fan but I do like the early Diamond Dave era. If I'm being honest, after a lifetime of hating Van Hagar, some of those singles are growing on me. There's no denying the greatness of EVH and the memoir by Alex Van Halen serves as a fitting tribute to his brother. It's worth a read just for the origin story and cool photos. I enjoyed learning about their early life and musical development. The writing wasn't great, but in a way that made it better, you could see that Al actually wrote it rather than a ghostwriter.
The pictures were really cool, and he spared us the sordid stories and kept it about his brother and the band. If you're a VH fan or just a music fan it's worth the read.
